Jaeryung Baek (b.1995, she/her) is a cinematographer based in Seoul, South Korea.
A graduate of the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA), Jaeryung approaches cinematography as a form of translation — transforming intimate narratives into visual form. Her work spans features, short films, documentaries, and animation, with a focus on themes of self-discovery, identity formation, bodily choice, and personal agency. Her camera attends to the emotional undercurrents and interior experiences that shape characters, articulating with lightness and care what is felt but left unspoken.
Her first feature, En Route To, won the New Currents Award and Best Actor Award at the 2025 Busan International Film Festival, and competed in Generation 14Plus of the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival. It has continued to screen at internationally renowned film festivals, including Hong Kong, London, and Seattle. Her short film Blue Box received the Best Cinematography Award at the Kolkata International Short Film Festival. She is an alumni of the 2025 CHANEL X BIFF Asian Film Academy.
